About Our Services
This site was created for self-help answers to your state tax questions. However, many of our users want a second or expert opinion for complex tax issues or questions regarding states they are less familiar with. We provide both free and fee-based services.
Free Help
"Ask the Experts" is a service that we provide to CPAs and other accounting and tax professionals. It is NOW available to the general public. Note that most of your everyday state tax questions can be answered in less than 15 minutes by using the following resource:

If that doesn't help, then fill out this form. Although this service is free, we ask that you complete the CPAide Bottom Line Challenge by joining the CPAide Lending Team and loaning $25 or more to a disadvantaged family through Kiva.
To join the CPAide Lending Team, just click on the image below. It will take you to the CPAide Lending Team page on the Kiva web site. Then, click on the big green button that says "Join Now". Register with Kiva and follow their instructions for making the loan.
That's more than fair: you spend 15 minutes helping someone else AND get your $25 back when the loan is repaid; in return, I spend an hour answering your question AND you keep the $100 that people normally pay for an answer to their question.

Fee-Based Services
Questions which require timely service and a well-documented answer will normally cost $100, which is our minimum fee for services provided via the Internet. More complex situations may require additional fees. We'll let you know if they do before we begin researching your question. Turn-around time is currently 24 hours.
