Sites that are popular with visitors have an icon that looks like this:

State Tax Central has a tracking mechanism that determines the number of visits that each listed site receives. Every time a visitor clicks through to a site listed on State Tax Central, a visit is recorded for that particular site. Only the top 100 sites out of the thousands listed on State Tax Central receive this icon.

Ratings

All sites carry a ratings icon. These ratings are calculated from thousands of votes cast by our many visitors, most of whom are CPAs and other accounting professionals. Rated sites carry from one to five stars, depending on how high visitors rate those sites. Any sites which have not been voted on carry the "NOT RATED" icon.

We encourage you to vote for all sites that you visit. Doing so helps the entire accounting community.

Sites that have been reviewed by an editor have an icon that looks like this:

Clicking on the icon will produce the full text of the review. These reviews are typically two to three pages in length and are detailed descriptions of the good and bad features of a particular site.
